The antimicrobial effectiveness testing of ACTI-Gard® Antimicrobial Incise Drapes was performed against 3M™ Ioban™ 2 and a recovery control. The test samples were tested against seven strains of bacteria on a porcine or human test subject by an independent test lab. The application sites were prepped with a 70% Isopropyl Alcohol solution prior to application of the test organism and sample incise drape. Then, each bacterial strain (initial concentration noted in each figure) was applied to the skin test site and allowed to dry. After that, the incise drape test sample was applied over the test site and incubate for time periods up to 6 hours. The results are shown in the charts to the left.
